Referrals

A referral from a doctor is not required unless you wish to obtain a Medicare rebate.

Medicare Rebates

If you would like to claim Medicare rebates for clinical psychology sessions, you will need a referral and a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. This will entitle you to claim rebates for an initial six sessions under Medicare’s Better Access to Mental Health initiative. After your sixth session, you will need to return to your GP for a review enabling you to claim rebates for an additional four sessions. This means you can access up to ten rebates per calendar year.

The Medicare rebate available for a 50-minute clinical psychology consultation is $141.85.

Please email your referral and your Mental Health Care Plan prior to your first session.

Health Fund Rebates

Some private health funds offer rebates for psychology services. The amount of the rebate depends on your level of cover. We can provide you with an invoice and all the information you need to claim directly from your health fund.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that life can be busy and that you may need to reschedule your appointment from time to time. We do our best to be flexible, but please note that cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice will incur a late cancellation fee, as this time period is too short for us to offer your appointment slot to somebody else. Cancellations made within 24 – 48 hours notice will incur 50% of the full session fee. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will incur 100% of the full session fee.
